AIMS Senegal has trained a total of 272 students (240 under the Taught Master’s degree and 32 under the Co-operative Master’s degree) since its inception in 2011. We are currently nearing completion of the training of 34 Co-op students of the 2017/2018 cohort (7 female and 27 male), through a structured method of combining academic courses with scheduled segments of practical experience in appropriate industry.
Students benefit from the experience of renowned visiting lecturers who teach for a period of 3 weeks in turn. Capacity building is provided by tutors who are always available on campus to ensure a 24-hour learning environment.
With degrees in mathematics, engineering, physics, computer science, as well as actuarial science, our 2018/2019 cohort comprises of 43 students (15 female and 28 male) enrolled in the AIMS Master’s program: 25 Co-op and 18 Taught Scholars. Combined, our scholars are nationals of 19 African countries, namely: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
All students are required to volunteer for at least 20 hours during the academic year.
This will strengthen their leadership skills as well as their commitment to give-back to Africa.
